Final Music Video

This is our final cut of the music video, unfortantly it seems when we uploaded the footage online we lost alot of quality and with alot of special effects its hard to distinguish the effects and they look more like a poor quality camera.

I have shown this media product to a few friends some saw the video in higher quality and other saw it in its current quality we found there feedback interesting and useful here are there quote

"I really enjoyed watching this video, the bright colors and special effects were brilliant i espically enjoyed when the song dropped from the classical sample to the dubstep remix and as the footage speeded up in time with the increase in tempo of the song i also liked the part were the graffitti wobbled when a strong bass line kick in nearer the end of the track" Sandy Hagenbach

I think this positive feedback is perfect because he is not specificallyn a fan of dubstep although he enjoys listiening to it he also has a wide taste in music showing my product has reached out to him and is successful although i must remember that because he is a friend he is far more likley to give positive feedback.

"the beging went really nicely with the music and i liked how the special effects builded up throught the song you really felt like who ever this guy was his night was just getting more and more intense although the track was a quite long and it did drag on abit" Rebekha Hudson

This person is someone who is most likely from the wider auidence and herb feedback is most defantly more positive then negative which is good.

"The quality of the footage seemed very poor im not sure if thats because its not the orginal version or whether it was poor camera skills, i did how ever like the theme of the video and as a massive dubstep fan i can relate to some of the features on the video i also like a couple of the camera tricks including when the guy in the green hat was walking towards the camera although in other parts of the video the camera had a horrible shake, although this could be because it was speeded up" Joseph Confino

I found that the feedback was very useful and it also confirmed some off the doubts i had about the video like the lenght of the video or the shake and poor quality of the footage but it was nice to see people had noticed the important effects we had designed to go in time with the music.

A sterotype is a commonly held public belief on how genders, races and social groups behave the media plays an important role in making and breaking those sterotypes i only have one character in my video but the other features in my film could make it seem as if he is connected to them so i have checked out many stereotypes of young men to see if you could make connections with my videos and unfortunately there are but stereotypes are not always bad as they do help people connect to the character here is a list of stereotypes i think ive included in my video and whether i think they are bad or not.

The strongest sterotype is that young men in hoodies such a my character must be wearing there hoodie to distinguish there identity so they can commet crimes theres news headlines every week about how hoodies, crime and young men are all very closely connected when put together. although there is no crime being committed in the video and the grafiitti is legally done people who do not know that the graffitti is legally painted might believe that the hooded character has some connection to its being. Although we have left the storey line very open to interpretation i can see how people could also believe that the hooded character has kidnaped the person the viewer is seeing through another connection between hoodies, young men and organised crime. this is obviously very bad that there is some bad stereotype about young men in my music video although i believe that these themes are so loosely connected in my video that it is hard to properly see the stereotypes and many people may just miss them which is good.

But because i have featured only one male and this male doesn't talk and you could only pick up other details from other clips i believe that i have effectively not shown any stereotypes although i dont believe you can call this a complete success because i have featured very little of males

Conventions are a set off norms which are generally accepted these norms can rule how people design a media product and in my case i kept very close to the general conventions of a dubstep music video with it being set in the night and in a city theres the costume of the main character who is wearing a hoodie and there is also strong connections with graffiti. although there are very few videos which are specific to dubstep its hard to certainly find out what are the conventions and i found a made my set of conventions from various sources such as gig posters, dubstep bands which have made more commercial videos and other genres which have very close connections to dubstep and by using these conventions as a guideline i have kept very close to the genreal conventions this can be seen as bad because it could show a lack of creativity and originality although on the other hand it makes sure the viewer knows that this product is associated with dubstep
